Started on September 8th, the Nanyang Championships US qualifiers have reached the final stages of the competition. The newly reformed Cloud 9 secured themselves a spot into the finals, sending Digital Chaos into the lower bracket.
As it was expected, the two favorite teams to rule the qualifiers, Digital Chaos and Cloud 9 have been storming throughout the first two rounds of the Upper Bracket to finally face each other in the third round. 1437 and co had a marvelous performance and didn’t drop a single match on their way to the finals.
The value bet for the confrontation between DC and C9 was favoring Aui’s team with 65%. However, C9 have shown a lot of determination and despite the fact they were in a serious disadvantage in the first game of the series, they executed a really good “play from behind” tactic, waiting for Ritsu (Anti-Mage) to find his farm and become their winning Ace.
It seems that Cloud 9 really enjoys to draft and play for the late game as in the second game they chose to go with a Spectre carry but this time around they were the ones who set the pressure from the very beginning till the end of the game.
Digital Chaos are still having a fair chance to reach the finals but first they need to wait their opponents to be decided in the lower bracket. The winner between Fire and Root Gaming will face the new NA sensation for the last spot in the qualifier finals.
Stakes are high as the winner of the US qualifiers will secure their ticket to Singapore at one of the biggest tournaments from East, Nanyang Championships where six invited teams and four qualified ones will compete over the course of one week for a share of two hundred thousand dollar starting prize pool.
Lower Bracket games schedule:
