MLG is celebrating its 100th events this fall in New Orleans with MLG World Finals. First team who received a direct invite at the Dota 2 competition is the TI5 Korean force MVP.Phoenix.
The World Finals will be the Major League Gaming’s 100th live event and it will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans starting from October 16th to 18th. The three days celebrating event will host a DotA 2 event featuring a $250,000 base prize pool.
Six teams will receive a direct invite, while two more will join them after the qualifiers. The first direct invited team announced is MvP.Phoenix. March and co managed to brake a new record for the Korean DotA finishing in the 8th position at The International 5, eliminating the former champions NewBee and Team Empire.
Although both Park 'March' Taewon and Kim 'QO' Sun were prospecting the retirement option after TI5, they decided to remain with the team for this season. The Korean squad locked it’s roster less than a week ago with a last minute transfer of Lee 'Heen' Seung Gon from the sister squad, MvP.Hot6ix.
The next five remaining invites along with details about MLG World Finals qualifiers are expected to be announced soon.
