With the ESL One New York Open Qualifiers quickly approaching in two days, many teams have been signing up their teams for a chance to participate in the event in October. The 196 registered teams include known teams, and even professional players such as Arthur “Goblak” Kostenko – all looking for a chance to compete at Madison Square Garden for the starting prize-pool of $250,000.
Only two days ago the organization announced the ESL One New York Open Qualifiers, format and signups for Europe and SEA regions.
According to ESL’s announcement, top three teams from the European Open Qualifier and top four teams from the Southeast Asian Open Qualifier will advance into the ESL One New York main regional qualifiers.
Known registered participants
Arthur “Goblak” Kostenko has announced that he will be participating in the open qualifiers this weekend with a mix of players from the CIS region. Included are known Russian players Vadim “Sedoy” Musorin, Alexander “NoFear” Churochkin plus two others, one who Goblak considers a “stand-in”.
Goblak’s team will compete among other well known teams that have already registered such as; LemonDogs, Scaryfacezzz, Power Rangers, and Yellow Submarine.
Golden Boys, the recently departed London Conspiracy roster will be making their debut with new member Verros “Maybe Next Time” Apostolos.
Among the list of teams hoping for an opportunity to be able to travel to New York City in October are those that typically compete in MSI Dragon Battle, EIZO Cup and Gigabyte Challenges such as; Aspera, HeHe United, ForLove.Int, Ez, Chappa, E-Lab, My Revenge, Next.Kz, Spin to Win, Zero Respect, Abraxas, and Team Alternate.
ESL One New York will be held between October 3rd and 4th at the Madison Square Garden. This year’s event will feature a starting prize-pool of $250,000, almost double the final amount of last year’s prize fund. Invited teams have not yet been announced, although many expect to see the reigning champions ViCi Gaming in attendance, as well as ESL One Frankfurt champions, Team Secret.
