The first DotA 2Major will kick off this November in Frankfurt, Germany and over the course of six days we’ll have 16 teams competing for a total prize pool of $3,000,000.

From November 16th to the 21st the Festhalle Messewould -'Great Dome' will be the fighting ground for the best DotA 2 teams in the world and to make the occasion even more special, Valve decided to grant free access for the live audience throughout the event, except the grand finals day.

Tickets for the grand finals will be sold this week-end, September 27 in two separate waves: the first at 11:00 am CEST and the last at 7:00 pm CEST. Each ticket will cost €50, and will be available here.

Before the directly invited teams are announced on October 5th, any team that wants to try their luck at the open qualifiers will be able to sign up on October 1st. The open qualifiers will be hosted by FaceIt and Perfect World and will take place from October 6th to 9th, with the Regional Qualifiers scheduled for 10 - 13 of October.

At the same time Valve announced on their official blog that we can expect the 6.85 patch to come later this week along with a Seasonal Compendium. Keep in mind that this Compendium might have nothing to do with the First Major as the announced prize pool is a TOTAL of $3,000,000.
