MLG World Finals groups released

MLG have announced the groups for the MLG World Finals – the upcoming LAN scheduled to take place at the Ernest N. Morial Center in New Orleans, LA, between October 16-18. Six invited teams – MVP.Phoenix, Team Secret, CDEC Gaming, LGD Gaming, Evil Geniuses, Virtus.Pro – and two qualified ones from the European and North-American regions – (monkey) Business and Cloud 9 – will compete for a +$250,000 prize pool and the championship title.

The TI5 champions, Evil Geniuses – who started off the new season on the wrong foot by getting knocked out of the ESL One New York LAN from the very first round – will go up against (monkey) Business, LGD Gaming and Virtus.Pro, in Group A. (monkey) Business are clearly the group’s underdog, as they will make their LAN debut at the MLG World Finals, after havingsecured their spot through the European qualifiers.

Group B will pit Team Secret, CDEC, Cloud 9 and MVP.Phoenix against each other. Cloud 9 are coming from the NA regional qualifiers and the MLG World Finals will be the first LAN for their newly reformed roster.
