Monkey Business crush CISR to qualify for MLG World Finals

Monkey Business convincingly bested CISR 3:1 to qualify for the $250,000 MLG World Finals, scheduled to take place at the Ernest N. Morial Center in New Orleans, LA, between October 16-18. The newly formed team will join MVP.Phoenix, Team Secret, CDEC, LGD, EG and Virtus.Pro.

Out of the ten European contenders — Team Empire, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Alliance, Natus Vincere, Vega Squadron, 5Jungz, (monkey) Business, Monkey Freedom Fighters, Golden Boys, and CIS Rejects – only Monkey Business will join MVP.Phoenix, Team Secret, CDEC Gaming, LGD Gaming, Evil Geniuses, and Virtus.Pro, in New Orleans. The last team to join will be the winner of the US qualifiers.

Monkey Business, Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein’s new team, defeated Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi’s team 5Jungz 2:1 in the first round. They then continued to show dominance by sweeping both Vega Squadron and NiP, gaining access to the grand finals.

Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorokhod, and Andrey “ALWAYSWANNAFLY” Bondarenko’s mix, CISR, swept through Alliance in the 2:0 in the first round and then bested both Na’Vi and Team Empire 2:1 in the following rounds.

After an intense 67 minute game, Monkey Business took the first game in the best-of-five series. They quickly followed up game 2 with a Tiny-Io combo and grabbed the victory in under 30 minutes. However, CISR were not ready to resign from contention yet and struck back taking the third game. In a incredibly dominant fourth game that lasted only 20 minutes, MB secured the qualifying spot.

Despite CISR’s early aggression and early leads in the first three games, they were no match for Amer “Miracle-“ Barqawi’ Anti Mage in game 1, the Tiny-Io combo of game 2 and Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein’s Phantom Lancer in game 4.
